2025 - ReefScape

The Game

Reefscape was a pick and place game involving placing pipes called coral on a coatrack-like structure called the reef. There were 4 levels with points increasing the higher you placed. There was a second gamepeice as well, a large ball called algae. These could be scored in two locations including the more difficult placement in an overhead net called the barge. Robots would operate mostly on their own half of the field and then go to the center to perform an enggame climb of grabing a cage suspended from a chain.

Our Robot (version 1)

We debated being a coral robot or algae or both. We decided on attempting both while ignoring the climb. We purchases a Thriftybot elevator and built a robot capable of scoring all 4 levels of coral. and could pick up algae from either the reef or floor and score it in the lower goal (processor). We finsihed our robot early and had a lot of time for practice, but struggled with our vision and auto software.
